The home inspector was very thorough, detailed, and explained everything to me very well.  Once finished, he answered all of my questions for me and offered for me to call him if I had any additional questions.  It was great to work with him.

The inspection went very well, Mike was our inspector and by the time we had arrived at the home he had already inspected the garage, outdoor areas and three floors of the house. We went back over every inch of the house with him, him explaining every detail and answering our copious questions. He gave good advice about things we had seen and wondered about and was very professional and thorough. The report that we received was also very detailed and included all the notes Mike had told us about. Can't be happier with ValueGuard. Our real estate agent was very impressed with him as well.

Mark did an excellent job. He was thorough and professional while the real estate agent was just the opposite (she represented both sides of the sale) and she was upset with the detail in the report. Cory was on time and very thorough, even completing the exterior inspection of the home prior to arrival for those spots that we would not be able to see.  His inspection was filled with explanation and he answered any and all questions.  He was not rushed for time and was very knowledgeable.

Shelly was absolutely wonderful to deal with.  I chatted with her online while I was researching home inspectors and she was wonderful setting up the inspections for the house, terminate and radon with the realtor so all we had to do was show up.  I was really impressed with Mark Helbig and the fantastic job he did; on a scale of 1 to 10 he is definitely a 12!  After having a bad experience some years before with a home inspector, Mark was absolutely wonderful and after watching him go through the process for the first half hour I knew I had found the right inspector.  He found things that none of us had seen and although the house was cluttered and very hard to maneuver through in some rooms, he did an excellent and very thorough job.  Mark was more than willing to answer our questions, point out problems he was finding as he went along and make suggestions for items that needed to be corrected.  The report came in just as promised and the details and photos he took of the problems were extremely helpful in negotiating repairs with the sellers.  My realtor was also very impressed with the company and the reports we received.  Mark took his time and made every attempt to inspect every part of the house even though it took 4 hours to complete the inspection on a holiday weekend!  I don’t think I could have asked for a better home inspector and highly recommend Mark and ValueGuard to anyone looking to buy a house.

I could not have been happier with the inspection and the inspector, Mike Baltrush.  Mike was early both times he came out to the house (the second was for a follow-up), he did a thorough review, explained why items needed to be fixed, and took photos of everything to document the issues.  He was polite, knowledgeable, and friendly.  I would recommend ValueGuard to friends in a heartbeat.

Thorough inspectors that leave nothing to chance

Cory did an excellent job of presenting the facts.  It turned out the house had strucutural issues that were uncovered in the inspection.  Had the inspection not been through/explained well I may have made a bad decision and purchased the home.  His straightforward approach wasn't what I wanted to hear, but it ultimately led me to making the right decision.  Next time around I will be using your services, thank you Cory!

Shelly at their call center was professional, responsive, and timely. I explained that we were buying an old home full of risks and unknowns (a total gut rehab on a very old home that was in horrible condition before the rehab) and that we needed an experienced inspector; she assigned Mike Pistor who was certainly up to the task. ValueGuard took care of coordinating the home inspection, the separate termite inspection, and the separate radon inspection, and scheduled it all with the seller's agent - we didn't have to do anything other than show up. Mike arrived on time, and was thorough, pleasant, professional, and very knowledgeable -- while we did find some issues with our home, we left the five-hour inspection feeling much more comfortable with our purchase than we did before. The termite inspector (also named Mike) was very thorough and knowledgeable, and when we found termites he explained the infestation and the risks to me in a way I could understand. We would recommend Mike and Valueguard for anyone, especially if you are buying a "problem" home!

Our experience with ValueGuard was outstanding. They were extremely easy to contact and we had no problems arranging for an inspection on the desired day (with only day or two notice). Our inspector, Michael, was very punctual and conducted an extremely thorough inspection. He was very helpful in answering questions, both during the inspection, and afterward by telephone. His findings were detailed in an extremely clear, well-prepared report including color photographs. This report was extremely useful in continued negotiations with the sellers.

This was my first home inspection, so I brought my parents, who've been thru the process a time or two. My inspector was incredibly accommodating, as far as explaining the process to me and addressing any concerns my family brought up. At no time did we feel rushed. Even the person I scheduled the appointment with was very personable. The company's whole 'professional but down-to-earth' approach with customer service was a breath of fresh air, during the journey to home ownership, which can be stressful. Kudos!
